The City of Kitchener is responsible for managing the wastewater resources in Kitchener, Ontario. The City uses a Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) system that monitors and controls twenty-two (22) sewage pumping stations. All sites have some level of automation ranging from stand alone control without an operator interface to full Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) capabilities with remote operations monitored continuously from a central control room located at the City of Kitchener, head office. Out of the 22 pumping stations, Homer Watson and Pioneer Tower are the two Pilot sites and work is to be initially done for these sites. City of Kitchener initiated SCADA System Upgrade Program to manage the steps necessary to upgrade and integrate all of its wastewater SCADA systems into a single standardized system capable of being remotely monitored and controlled. This intent of this document is to only source qualified contractors for the two sites mentioned above. |
