| Description: | The City of Kitchener requires road condition data to be collected in order to maintain its pavement management system. As pavement condition data plays an important role for city-wide infrastructure analysis and planning, it is required that data is routinely updated and integrated into the system. Currently, the City is using RoadMatrix as its pavement management software. The most recent road inspections were completed in 2016. Data to be collected for this contract includes surface distress and roughness. There are 5130 road sections to be inspected that amounts to 811 lane kms (731 km of roads with 3 lanes or less, and 80 km of roads with medians or have 4 lanes or more). 97% of the network to be surveyed is asphalt and 3% is portland cement. |
