This Request for Quotations (the “RFQ”) is an invitation by the Corporation of the City of Kitchener (the “City”) to prospective respondents to submit quotations for Professional Services - GHG Reduction Pathway Study and Mechanical Systems Review for Community Arenas, as further described in Section A of the RFQ Particulars (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”). 

The City is seeking to retain a qualified consulting team to complete a comprehensive assessment of the mechanical systems at the following community arenas: 

• Activa Sportsplex – 135 Lennox Lewis Way, Kitchener Ontario N2C 0A3
• Sportsworld Arena – 35 Sportsworld Crossing Road, Kitchener Ontario N2P 0A5
• Lions Arena – 20 Rittenhouse Road, Kitchener Ontario N2E 2M9
• Don McLaren Arena – 61 Green Street, Kitchener Ontario N2G 4K9
• Grand River Arena – 555 Heritage Drive, Kitchener Ontario N2B 2S7

The review will include the facility’s:

• Air handling systems 
• Building heating and cooling systems 
• Ice plant systems, and domestic hot water (DHW) systems. 

In addition, a GHG reduction pathway study will be developed for three (3) of the arenas including energy modeling and analysis of carbon reduction measures beyond the mechanical systems.
