Description: |
The work includes the replacement of sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water supply system, roadway, curb and gutter, sidewalks, municipal service connections to the street property line extending over an approximate distance of 705 meters. The work also includes realignment and replacement of roughly 500 metres of existing sanitary trunk forcemain, requiring construction, operation, and removal of a temporary sanitary forcemain bypass system extending an approximate distance of 550 meters, from near Becker Street at Fife Avenue to an island in the Highway 7 off-ramp at Bruce Street, including live tapping the existing sanitary forcemain at these two endpoints, along with in-place abandonment of the section of the existing sanitary forcemain being replaced. The work also includes installation of multiple low impact development features, tree management under the City’s urban forestry guidelines, and management of excess soils. Contractors are expected to provide construction services for the above project limits for the proposed design as illustrated in the contract documents, in accordance with City of Kitchener General Conditions of Contract, Supplemental General Conditions, Standard Specifications, as well as the Special Provisions provided herein, the Region of Waterloo’s Design Guidelines and Supplemental Specifications for Municipal Services (DGSSMS), and Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications (OPSS) & Ontario Provincial Standard Drawings (OPSD) Municipal (MUNI) and Provincial (PROV) – most recent versions, along with any other relevant City and industry standards (CKSS, OPS etc.), and community plans. |
