This Request for Quotations (the “RFQ”) is an invitation by the Corporation of the City of Kitchener (the “City”) to prospective respondents to submit quotations for Fire Life System Inspection and Maintenance Partner, as further described in Section A of the RFQ Particulars (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”).

The City is seeking a qualified Contractor to provide annual life safety and equipment inspections, including hood inspections, maintenance, emergency response and repair services, in accordance with the Ontario Fire Code and all applicable local fire department requirements. These services will be required at various City-owned locations as outlined in this document.

The Contractor must possess all required licenses, certifications, and manufacturer authorizations necessary to inspect, test, maintain, service, program, commission, and repair Edwards fire alarm and life safety systems without the use of a subcontractor, which comprise the majority of systems installed throughout City facilities, as identified in Appendix B.

The Contractor shall ensure that all personnel assigned to perform this work are appropriately trained and certified on Edwards equipment and are qualified to carry out all required services in accordance with applicable codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and manufacturer specifications.

Evidence of the required qualifications, certifications, and manufacturer authorizations shall be submitted in accordance with the requirements set out in Appendix B Mandatory Technical Requirements.
