Each year the City of Kitchener endeavors to upgrade its underground services to current standards by carrying out complete roadway reconstruction on selected streets throughout the City through its Full Reconstruction Program.  In addition, several other roads are resurfaced and improved while leaving the existing underground infrastructure in place through its Road Rehabilitation Program. In order to be proactive in designing and budgeting for these projects, the City is seeking a qualified geotechnical consultant to conduct appropriate geotechnical investigations and supply engineering design reports to aid in the overall design of the various projects contained in these two programs. It is the intent to complete the geotechnical investigations for the anticipated 2027 Road Rehabilitation Program, 2028 Watermain Program and 2028 and 2029 Full Reconstruction/Laneway Program such that any unforeseen subsurface elements can be brought to light well in advance of detailed design and/or construction. The information obtained during these investigations and the engineering reports will be used by both City staff and other consultants during the overall design of the various projects.
