Part A – Woolner Trail Sewage Pumping Station Grinder Installation  

Woolner Trail Sewage Pumping Station is located at 154 Woolner Trail (south end of Woolner Trail)
in Kitchener, Ontario.

The following is a general description of the work:

1. Verify location of existing utilities including but not limited to sanitary sewer, sanitary forcemain, storm sewer, watermain, gas, and electrical. Pipe size to be verified as well. 
2. Construction of a standard dimension pre-cast concrete chamber for an open channel style sewage grinder with a bypass/rock sump, complete with all accessories for the chamber (travel rated access hatch, ladders, landing platform, lighting, etc.). 
3. Construction of concrete benching within pre-cast concrete chamber.
4. Installation of a pre-cast concrete manhole upstream of the grinder chamber.
5. Construction of sanitary sewer from existing MH 1 and MH 3 to new manhole, from new manhole to grinder chamber and from grinder chamber to existing MH 2.
6. Abandonment of existing sanitary sewers on site between MH 1 and MH 2 as well as between MH 3 and MH 2 once proposed sewers and grinder chamber are in place. 
7. Installation of a new sewage grinder in the pre-cast concrete chamber complete with accessories (guide rail, lifting chain, etc.).
8. Installation of electrical and control components for the new grinder as well as electrical for the lighting in grinder chamber.
9. Related shoring and dewatering during construction as to not undermine existing yard piping and structures.
10. Restoration of any pipe that require temporary removal during construction.
11. Maintenance of existing flows during construction.

Part B – Carson Drive Sewage Pumping Station Upgrades

Carson Drive Sewage Pumping Station is located at 230 Carson Drive in Kitchener, Ontario.

The following is a general description of the work:

1. Verify location of existing utilities including but not limited to sanitary sewer, sanitary forcemain, storm sewer, watermain, gas, and electrical. Pipe size to be verified as well. 
2. A new water service from Manchester Court to the existing pumping station building completed with all required piping, curb stops, valves, water meter, backflow preventer and non-freeze wall hydrant.  
3. Installation of a pre-cast concrete manhole with a bypass/overflow pipe to the existing wet well.
4. Construction of a custom pre-cast underground concrete chamber with a bypass/rock sump for an open channel style sewage grinder, complete with all accessories for the chamber (travel rated hatch, ladders, landing platform, lighting, vent pipe, etc.). Grinder installation is not part of the contract.
5. Construction of concrete benching within pre-cast concrete chamber. 
6. Connection of manhole and grinder chamber to existing sewer. 
7. Construction of a pre-cast underground concrete chamber for an electromagnetic flow meter complete with all process piping, valving and all accessories for the chamber (travel rated hatch, ladders, landing platform, lighting, vent pipe, etc.).
8. Construction of a pre-cast manhole for the bypass connection completed with all associated piping and valving.
9. Connection of the flow meter chamber and bypass manhole to existing forcemain. 
10. Installation of electrical and instrumentation/control equipment.
11. Pavement of area near existing wet well and new chambers as shown on the drawings.
12. Related shoring during construction. 
13. Dewatering during construction including treatment if required.
14. Erosion and Sediment Control Measures during construction.
15 .Maintenance of existing flows during construction. 
16. All restoration work.
