| Description: |
The City requires the services of qualified, experienced contractor(s) for regular planned and emergency installation/repair services to the municipal side of water mains, water services, water valves and fire hydrants. The work includes repair as well as patching of roadways, and monitoring/addressing issues with the patch for a seven (7) day period. The work will be considered complete after the monitoring period. The work may also include construction at, or near, the Waterloo Light Rail Transit System. The successful proponent(s) must obtain ION LRT Safety Awareness training within two (2) months of award of a contract in order to provide (as required) ongoing waterworks repair services for the City. In regards to planned work, valve replacements, service & main repairs, air release valve, etc. are periodically required over the term of the contract. For emergency repairs, there are on average 90 water main breaks per year. Please note that the City currently completes the majority of repairs internally and it is anticipated that approximately 10%-20% will be contracted out. |
