This Request for Information (“RFI”) is issued by The Corporation of the City of Kitchener (“the City”) for the purposes of gathering information about the marketplace in order to assist in the determination of future purchasing options or requirements.

The City is looking to gather information on the marketplace for future projects that will conduct a review of City facilities and develop a strategy for the deployment of solar electricity generation projects. 

As part of a GHG emission reduction strategy, the City is exploring production of local renewable energy at City facilities. This strategy is intended to identify and rank opportunities for solar PV deployment to aid the City in prioritization of projects to pursue in the short and long terms. Presentation of a strong business case for potential projects is essential.  This strategy should consider both suitable facility roof areas and canopy structures over parking.  Funding partnership, power purchase agreements, and grant opportunities should be explored and presented.
