Doon Village Road Bridges #1 (802) & Bridge #2 (803) Rehabilitation – 25m West of Doon South Drive to 250m West of Doon South Drive, extending over an approximate project distance of 225 metres. The work for each structure involves: installing a concrete overlay on the central 12m of the deck with embedded galvanic anodes; replacing asphalt, granular fill and waterproofing; installing a strengthening beam strip at the inside base of the parapet walls; patch repairing spalled and delaminated areas of concrete on the soffit, fascia and retaining walls; replacing damaged sidewalk panels; rehabilitating the parapet walls by applying a Migratory Corrosion Inhibitor (MCI) to remove chlorides, and applying a pigmented sealer to improve aesthetics and bridge narrow and medium cracks; replacing steel beam guide rails at all corners of the bridges; repairs to adjacent gabion walls and slope protection. |
