The Corporation of the City of Kitchener is seeking responses to this request for proposal from experienced General Contractors.  The prequalification process will select up to seven (7) qualified General Contractors to be placed on the City’s Vendor of Record (VOR) list.  Only those General Contractors selected will be eligible to bid on the City’s construction and renovation tenders, valued up to $262,000 (Based on CETA/CFTA thresholds and subject to change annually).

If successful in this process, the official pre-qualification status will ensure the firm may receive Request for Tenders for a period of three (3) years, September 1, 2020 to August 31, 2023.

The City intends to maintain a list of prequalified Contractors to participate in future competitive bids. The City makes no representations as to the volume of projects available. Inclusion on the prequalification list does not guarantee that any Successful Applicant will be awarded a project or requested to participate in subsequent tenders. 

The City may issue a Request for Tender to prequalified General Contractors to provide services, which may include:

•Interior Construction

•Electrical

•Plumbing

•HVAC-R

•Fire and Life Safety Systems

•Building Automation Systems

•Interior Finishes

•Envelope Repairs

•Structural

Work is dependent on the specific project and may take place in any City facility, including recreation facilities, office environments, fire facilities, or parks facilities etc.
